Saint Patrick's National School, Calry, Co. Sligo

History

St. Patrick’s N.S. Calry Patrick’s N.S. Calry was built in 1989. It amalgamated Dunally N.S. and Calry N.S. It is a mixed rural school situated approx 3 miles outside Sligo town. Calry N.S. is a catholic school.

In 2005 an extension consisting of 3 additional classrooms, a general purposes room, a library, a new staffroom and some ancillary accommodation was added to the school. Primarily through the funding of the Parent’s Association the library was augmented to include a computer laboratory consisting of 20 PC’s, a server, data projector, interactive whiteboard and colour photocopier. There is also a fully networked PC in each classroom and resource room as well as recently installed touch panels in three classes. Our school also boasts a relaxation room and touch panels have been installed in 3 classrooms to replace overhead projectors. Our plan is to upgrade all classrooms with touch panels over the next 2 years.

We have a traditional  garden and a polytunnell for growing vegatables. We are in the process of redesigning our outdoor woodland classroom and with the help of Sligo IT second year architect students, we hope to be able to complete this work in the not too distant future!
